PreAlpha 2.1

This Update brings some greatly needed polish and extra content to the battles and other features from the prior update.

Additions:

  • Random amount of enemies now spawn in expeditions
  • You can now escape enemies wothout them folliwing you
  • During battles the throw is now done using quadratic interpolation to really be a throw.
  • During battle the protagonist is running and the movement is looking way smoother now
  • The player now has to wait for the protagonist to move on the grid before changing to another position
  • Enemies on the expedition map now flip their sprites according to the direction they're headed
  • By switching to the outside view of the house the player can nowmove around freely
  • The fence outside of the house now has collision
  • The flowers now got proper names instead of just the corresponding color + flower
  • The book of illnesses is now actually written and ready
  • Added myst to the first expedition
  • The player is now running during expeditions
  • Changed the position and texture of the return button on the shelf scene
  • Optiont avoid incoming atacks by kneeling
  • Changed the Background in the orders/letters menu
  • You can now reject any order, if you don't wanna do it
  • Sleeping now has effects on exhaustion
  • After sleep the daylight gets now displayed correctly -> if you slept from 16 to 20 it will have gotten darker
  • If you throw an object from a closer distance than possible, the damage from the object gets multiplied with a multiplier -> one grid closer x1.5 -> two grids closer x2.0
  • You can only go on  expeditions if you're not exhausted
  • You can now only go to sleep if you're over 1/5 (20) exhausted
  • The camera fixes itself to the protagpnist after the battle


Bugfixes:

  • When winning a battle you get set back to the correct expedition
  • Fixed a bug where there was a green clover displayed on the page with the brown clover
  • Fixed an issue where when throwing an item at an enemy the amount would be changed on the wrong one
  • Fixed the page value on the orders
  • You can now click onn the end sleep button and aren't jailed inside of it
  • Fixed a major issue where a completed order wouldn't get deleted or cause an error while trying to
  • Fixed an issue where the graphic displaying teh wheater time would glitch out on a new day
  • Fixed an issue of the enemies randomly moving way too fast


Changes:

  • The Protagonist doesn't move directly to any highlighted objects anymore, it didn't look good and caused many problems, you can now only move by pointing with the mouse
  • Other menues get closed if you're opening one, this is done so they don't overflow the screen
  • The Time now goes from 12pm to 1am, not from 11pm to 0am
  • Optimizations to file size ~300MB to ~210MB


Next Update ~25.12.2021:

The next update will bring things such as two completely random books:

  • A crititcal view on Miasma
  • The endless search for a scapegoat

Other things I'm trying to get done till then:

  • More Attacks for enemies and special ones for each one
  • A shop either coming by the house or in the town, where you can either buy new books (guides for enemies, other)
  • a tutorial
  • more effects and indicators during battle and brewing
  • greater improvements to file size
  • a 3rd expedition in sandy conditions
  • changes to the way you get water and bottles
  • mental health meter of the protagonist
