Beta 1.1 for Veles - The Playlist Update:

This marks the first update since the launch of the Beta at the end of 2022.

The main focus of this update was a complete rework of how playlists work and look within Veles. Playlists should now look way better and are built more versatile in the backend for further improvement/changes in the future.

Update Log:

• Change Tags now allows to view all the Covers which are embedded within a file
• You can now switch between covers within the Image View, if the music file has multiple embedded covers
• The Downloader now shows an error when you try to download to a destination that already has a file with the same name
• Fixed a Bug where the previous color was still saved in the Image View making the starting animation look very abrupt
• All covers are now saved with the right image format, instead of everything just being a png
• Exports of covers now work with the correct format (png get exported to .png files, and jpegs to .jpeg files)
• When Sliding the Playback slider the current playback position only changes when dropping the slider
• The Slider now has a little Label showing which time the user is currently hovering over in the playback slider
• Switched the backend renderer from GLES2 to GLES3 to make use of more advanced shading techniques (e.g. blur)
• Smart playlists no longer load every single song when no song matches any of the conditions
• Reworked the look of all the playlist options popups
• Reworked the look of all the playlist creator menus
• All menus now blur the background when being opened
• Improved the loading times, when the playlist cover override is used often within a playlist
• The title is being shift fully to the left when the option is selected to hide the covers
• Added an extra menu to SmartPlaylists which allow the conditions for the playlist to be edited after initial creation
• Optimized the ImageView -> backend processes are being hidden while the ImageView is active
• The is an extra Shuffle, Queue and "Tag Playlist" option in the Playlists Header / Options popup
• All used Covers within Veles now look substantially better/sharper, due to now using the lanczos interpolation method and resizing all images to the correct size manually
• Artists no longer appear multiple times in the "Artist" Suboption, after adding the tag of an already existing Artist to a Song
• There is an option to cut the title of the playlist which is currently downloading, so only the title of each song stays
• New Shortcut which automatically scroll to the top of any playlist -> "T" - key
• Fixed that when pressing prior while playing songs from a queue the next song from the queue would be played regardless
• The SongHighlighter no longer clips above any other neighbouring parts such as the WindowBar or Player
• Added additional Context Labels
• Now using a thread to load all the Playlists on the Grid
• Fixed a bugged line of pixel on the side of some Covers being displayed

The next bigger update will focus on completely reworking the editing of tags within Veles.

Beta 1.3 ~early April- Lyrics Update:

Fleshing out all the parts of Veles that have anything to do with Lyrics, be it the Lyrics Viewer in the Image View of the Lyrics Editor

This Update has been a lot of work and I hope it gets Veles one step closer to being complete.
